JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Two young ladies with Triumph Incorporated have received titles in the Miss Amazing competition.
“Miss Amazing is a national self-esteem movement for girls and women with disabilities,” Triumph’s Bobbi Jo Hofland stated. “The event empowers personal development, creates friendships and a sense for community, and destigmatizes disabilities.”
The North Dakota Miss Amazing event is held in Minot each year.
“This year there are five beautiful girls and women attending nationals in Nashville, TN representing North Dakota,” Hofland added. “Miss Amazing is for girls and women with disabilities ages 5 and older.”
Hofland adds the program is always seeking more participants and volunteers in the state.
Alexis Lautt was selected as Miss Amazing Miss 2022 and Lacey Thu received the title of Miss Amazing Junior Miss 2022 in North Dakota. They will represent North Dakota in those roles at the National Miss Amazing event in Nashville, TN Nationals July 28-31.
Currently, fundraising is underway to support the ladies trip to the national stage. Around $5,000 is needed for travel expenses. A walking taco fundraiser is planned for June 28th from 11 AM to 1 PM at Triumph, Inc. at 1805 2nd Ave. SW in Jamestown.
