ENDERLIN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Oakes Tornadoes’ baseball season came to a close after a 13-3 loss to Northern Cass on a chilly Friday afternoon in Enderlin.
The Jaguars’ offense started things off with a bang in the form of a three-run home run by senior catcher Jack Metzger which set the tone for the afternoon. Oakes responded by tying the game up after the third inning with solo home runs from junior infielder Fletcher Willprecht and senior infielder Howie Neustel. However, that would be all the offense for the Tornadoes. Northern Cass scored ten unanswered runs to run-rule Oakes in the sixth inning to end their season.
Oakes’ offense was able to get hits but were unable to bring them home. As a team, they had a total of nine hits including two hits from junior catcher Xavier Vossler, but the Tornadoes left too many men on base.
Oakes’ 2021-2022 baseball season ends with a final record of 6-8.
