KATHRYN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Heavy rains raised concerns recently in the area regarding Clausen Springs Dam near Kathryn.
Barnes County Emergency Manager Sue Lloyd says during the Thursday night heavy rains, there was no breach at the dam.
Lloyd added that residents of the area were made aware that they should be prepared if evacuation was necessary due to substantial rainfall.
Lloyd says at this time, the dam has not been breached and no evacuation orders have been announced.
Scott Tichy with the Corps of Engineers adds he doesn’t believe there’s an issue with the Dam failing, however there’s a lot of over-land flooding and area residents should remain vigilant.
