JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – Jamestown High School Athletics rolled on Tuesday night as the Blue Jay girls soccer team grabbed its fifth consecutive win, boys golf placed fifth in Mandan, and the baseball team splits its doubleheader against the Braves.
GIRL’S SOCCER: JAMESTOWN 5, CENTURY 1
Haley Nelson provided another hat trick in WDA play as the senior helped the Blue Jays grab their fifth straight win. Jamestown and Century were tied at one after the first half before Claire Frohlich scored the go-ahead goal at the 46-minute mark in the second half. Nelson scored twice in the second half, and Emma Hillerud scored her second goal of the year to help Jamestown win 5-1. Goalkeeper Olivia Sorlie made nine saves as the Jays won both matches against Century this season. Jamestown is now 6-4 overall and in the WDA and will travel to Minot on Friday.

BOY’S GOLF: JAYS PLACE 5TH AT MANDAN INVITE
Andrew Walz tied for eighth by shooting a 79 on Tuesday at Mandan as Jamestown took fifth place overall out 11 teams competing. The Jays shot a 338 as a team and will head to the Capital City on Friday to compete at Hawktree Golf Course.

The Blue Jays scored three runs in the top of the fourth inning in game two in order to force the doubleheader split against the Braves. Mason Lunzman earned the win in game two on the mound, going all seven innings, striking out six, and allowing five hits. Preston Gall was 2-for-4 with a double in game two.
