JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown High School soccer team won its fourth consecutive game and the girls tennis team fell 5-4 to Williston on Thursday night.

SOCCER: JAMESTOWN 3, LEGACY 1

The Blue Jay girls soccer team kept its winning streak rolling on Thursday night at home with a 3-1 win over Legacy. Senior Haley Nelson put the Jays in front three minutes into the match with a goal, her eighth of the season. Legacy responded late in the first half to send it in to the break tied at one.

In the second half, Claire Frohlich and Brenna Hatch buried goals in the 57th and 59th minutes to get the Jays their fourth consecutive victory. Jamestown is now 5-4 overall and in the WDA, improving to 4-1 at home this season. The Jays will host Century on Tuesday night in the second to last home match of the season.

TENNIS: WILLISTON 5, JAMESTOWN 4

The Blue Jay girls tennis team came up just short of its first win of the year on Thursday night at Bollinger Courts as Jamestown dropped to 0-6 on the year. Phoebe Olson won her #1 singles match over Shelby Meyer 6-1 and 6-3. Olson also won in #1 doubles with Bria Nieswaag 6-4 and 6-3. Grace LeFevre also picked up a win in three sets over Williston’s Maggie Garbel (7-5, 3-6, 6-3). Jamestown takes on Valley City and Wahpeton in Valley on Friday starting at 10 AM.
