JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The City of Jamestown will once again be holding the Residential Citywide Curbside Cleanup week May 9th through May 13th.
During the week, residents can place accepted items on the curbside of their property to be picked up and disposed of by city crews.
Sanitation Foreman Shawn O’Niell says residents are asked to place items on the roadway as close to the curb or shoulder as possible. All materials will need to be out by 7 AM the morning of your designated cleanup day.
Areas are based on resident’s street address:
Dates and sites include:
Monday, May 9 Southeast (SE) section of the City
Tuesday, May 10 Southwest (SW) section of the City
Wednesday, May 11 Northwest (NW) section of the City
Thursday, May 12 Northeast (NE) section of the City
O’Niell encourages residents to read up on what can and can’t be accepted by crews during the week.
Any items left after the City truck collects accepted items will be the responsibility of the property owner. O’Niell added they will not return to collect any remaining items once the route is complete. You’re also asked to ensure all refuse is cleared of any hazards to make pick up safe for city employees.
To help residents with disposal, the city will also extend city baler and landfill hours for the week. Both will open from 7 AM to 6 PM Monday through Friday and 8 AM to 3 PM Saturday.
In 2021, O’Niell says they had a rather low year, accepting just around 163 tons of total collection, which is lower compared to previous years of the program.
