VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The director of the Barnes County museum said he didn’t want to count his dinosaurs before they hatched, but, this week the museum got another dinosaur on loan from the State Geological Survey.
Wes Anderson said the Thescelosaurus, is a creation of Mike Triebold made in Valley City. It’s a land creature, so it comes, more than likely from the Hell Creek area of Southwestern North Dakota. It’s 6 feet long and is beneath “Gundy” in the museum.
Anderson said thanks to the generous cooperation of the ND Geological Survey, we welcome “Burt” the Thescelosaurus Neglectus (Marvelous Lizard) to the Barnes County Museum!
Feature photo is Clint Boyd of the ND Geological Survey and Wes Anderson of the Barnes County Historical Society (315 Central Ave N, Valley City, ND) Museum hours are Monday – Saturday 10AM to 4PM. Free will admission to the museum in Valley City.
