JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The local Game & Fish Department advisory board meeting will be held Monday, May 2nd in Jamestown.

Created in the 1960s the North Dakota Game and Fish Advisory Board is made up of eight members, four landowners and four hunter/anglers. Board members serve as liaisons between the department and the North Dakota public. Bi-annual meetings are held in each of eight districts giving citizens an opportunity to discuss fish and wildlife related issues.

Wildlife Biologist  Doug Leier says the meeting will be open to all at the North Dakota Farmers Union building.

The District 6 meeting will begin at 7 PM and includes Barnes, Dickey, Foster, Griggs, Logan, LaMoure, McIntosh, Stutsman and Wells counties

Leier says the hunting season also continues and encourages you to scout ahead before hitting the outdoors. He added the Paddlefish snagging season will also open on Sunday, May 1st.
