JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – i3G Media has received two Eric Sevareid Awards of Merit for their reports in 2021.

The Eric Sevareid Awards are named for the North Dakota-born and University of Minnesota-educated journalist best known for his work as a correspondent for CBS Radio and Television. Each year, the Midwest Broadcast Journalists Association presents awards to the best work done by broadcast news operations and journalists working in small, medium, and large markets in our six-state region on radio, television, and online.

“Our distinguished panel of judges is made up of journalists and educators who live outside of Minnesota, Wisconsin, the Dakotas, Iowa, and Nebraska to help ensure impartiality,” the organization states.

KQDJ received an Award of Merit for Sports Reporting in Small Market Radio for Jarin Matheny’s report on the first game held on the new Charlotte & Gordon Hansen Stadium on September 3rd, 2021.

KQDJ also received an Award of Merit for General Reporting in Small Market Radio for Warren Abrahamson’s report on Bison World plans being finalized and next steps being outlined on December 1st, 2021.

i3G Media was recognized at the Midwest Broadcaster Journalism Association’s annual conference in Minneapolis on April 1st & 2nd.
