JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – After numerous April blizzards uprooted some spring turkey season plans, Game & Fish Wildlife Biologist Doug Leier says hunters should take some time now to consider scouting out their next hunt.
He says entering the 3rd weekend of spring turkey season will prove key as snow has moved the birds into a temporary “winter cover.”
Leier says the season will continue through May 15th, giving hunters ample opportunity this spring.
Another opportunity for anglers is set for May 1st.
Leier says you can only purchase tags at the Williston, Dickinson, or Bismarck office for tags. He encourages you to order a tag now to ensure it makes it to you before the season opens.
