(NDAgConnection.com) – The most recent Crop Progress Report from the U.S. Department of Agriculture shows that 32% of the winter wheat planted was rated in good/excellent condition this past week compared to 30% the previous week and 53% one year ago.
Among the 18 selected states in the report, crops in the five top producers received the following ratings: Kansas (34% good/excellent), Washington (56%), Oklahoma (29%), Colorado (20%), and Montana (15%).
About 6% of spring wheat had been planted in six selected states as of April 10: Washington, Idaho, South Dakota, Montana, Minnesota, and North Dakota.
Corn planting, meanwhile, was 2% complete in 18 selected states.
