Bryon (Bry) Lee Peterson, 49, of Valley City, North Dakota formerly LaMoure, North Dakota passed away Monday, April 4, 2022 in Valley City.

A funeral mass will be held 10:30 am, Saturday, April 9 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church LaMoure, North Dakota. Burial with military honors will be at Grand Rapids Cemetery, LaMoure.

Bryon (Bry) Lee Peterson was born January 22, 1973 in Oakes, North Dakota to Richard and Nancy (Clark) Peterson. He grew up and attended school in LaMoure, North Dakota graduating from LaMoure High School in 1991. Bry was the 135 pound North Dakota high school class B state wrestling champion 1991 for LaMoure High School.

Bry went to basic training the summer after his junior year of high school joining the North Dakota Army National Guard. He served a tour from 2004-2005 with the 141st ECP in Iraq and a tour from 2009-2010 in Kosovo with the 241st BDE. After 21 years of service, Bryon retired from the North Dakota Army National Guard with many achievements including the Bronze Service Star.

Bry was actively involved in the Red Knights ND-1 motorcycle chapter in Valley City. He was also a volunteer fire fighter for Valley City in the early 2000s. Bry was a skilled carpenter and a handy guy.

Bryon is survived by daughter McKenzi Peterson (Rylee Ringdahl), grandson Beau Ringdahl and daughter Kacey Peterson. Bryon is also survived by his father, Richard Peterson; his sister Sara (Brent) Thielges and their children and grandchildren: Erica, Josh and Crosby Ulmer, James, Brianna, Paige and Jada Thielges and Clark Thielges; his brother Les and Bobbi Peterson and their children: Kendra Peterson, Riley Peterson and Kloe Peterson and his sister Lisa (Jon) Ptacek and their children: Makayla Ptacek, Madi Ptacek and Brody Ptacek.

Bryon is preceded in death by his mother, Nancy and his grandparents.
