JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The North Dakota Game & Fish Department is asking for help locating active bald eagle nests.
Eagles typically lay eggs in early to mid-March, which hatch about a month later.
Game & Fish Wildlife Biologist Doug Leier says there are many counties that currently have active bald eagle nests in the state.
Observations should be reported online at gf.nd.gov. Observers are asked not to disturb the nest, and to stay a safe distance away. Johnson said foot traffic may disturb the bird, likely causing the eagle to leave her eggs or young unattended.
In other outdoor information, Leier says beginning today, April 1st, anglers are required to purchase new fishing licenses.
