JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Police & Fire Committee approved a first reading to change an ordinance regarding persons under the age of 21 from using alcoholic beverages or entering licensed premises.

Committee chair Dan Buchanan stated the change would decrease the penalty of the ordinance.

The ordinance change was unanimously approved for a first reading.

City Engineer Travis Dillman later brought forth plans and specifications for bids for the generator on the Main Fire station.

Bids for the project would be let in April and opened in May to be awarded.

The plans and specifications were unanimously approved.

Later, Jamestown Police Chief Scott Edinger gave a brief report regarding the Runnin O’ the Green on Saturday, March 19th.

Edinger says there were 41 traffic stops, one DUI not related to the run, and four drunkenness calls.

Edinger added there were no minor in consumption or possession this year, where outdoor fences and enclosures have helped cut down in that area. He stated bars do a good job of carding patrons during the run.

More than 1,100 registered for the 2022 Runnin O’ The Green.
