VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The threat of a major spring flooding has been taken off the table, thanks in part to a perfect snow melt this year.
U.S. Army Corps of Engineer (USACE) Baldhill Dam Resource Manager Rich Schueneman said Lake Ashtabula reached its maximum inflow earlier this week. He said they will slowly be ramping back on the amount of water released out of Baldhill Dam to build up their summer pool level.
Schueneman encouraged everyone to stay off Lake Ashtabula due to unsafe ice conditions.
He said Lake Ashtabula could reach its summer pool level of 1266 feet by mid-April. The full interview with Rich Schueneman is available below.
