OLATHE, Kan. (jimmiepride.com)– The University of Jamestown men’s golf team finished in fifth place at the Baker University Invite, which concluded Tuesday at Prairie Highlands Golf Club.

Jamestown shot a second round score of 309 to finish with a two-day total of 43-over 619 (310-309). William Woods (Mo.) University was first at 13-over 589 (303-286).

Tomas Garcia (FR/Vigo, Spain) was the top placer for the Jimmies, tying for 14th at 10-over 154 (79-75). Tate Olson (SR/Cook, Minn.) tied for 18th at 11-over 155 (79-75), Max Noffsinger (FR/Ft. Collins, Colo.) (78-78) and Jackson Worner (JR/West Fargo, N.D.) (80-76) tied for 20th at 12-over 156, and Gehrig Geiss (FR/Glen Ullin, N.D.) tied for 36th at 19-over 163 (83-80).

“We saw some good things this week,” said UJ head coach Zach Hale. “Unfortunately we did not show what we are capable of. We will need to work hard in practice and get ready to bounce back next week at our ‘home’ tournament in Iowa.”

The Jimmies will be the host team for the Jimmie Spring Swing at Ames Golf & Country Club in Ames, Iowa, on Monday and Tuesday.
