OLATHE, Kan. (jimmiepride.com)— Tate Olson (SR/Cook, Minn.) is second and the University of Jamestown men’s golf team third after the first day of the Baker Spring Invitational, which is being played at the par 72, 6722-yard Prairie Highlands Golf Club.

Olson shot a 1-over 73 and is four shots behind Jakub Dymecki of William Woods (Mo.) for the lead.
As a team, the Jimmies are in third place at 22-over 310, six shots back of Sterling (Kan.) College and seven shots behind William Woods (Mo.)
Max Noffsinger (FR/Ft. Collins, Colo.) is tied for 13th at 6-over 78, Tomas Garcia (FR/Vigo, Spain) is tied for 18th at 7-over 79, Jackson Worner (JR/West Fargo, N.D.) is tied for 26th at 8-over 80, and Gehrig Geiss (FR/Glen Ullin, N.D.) is tied for 37th at 11-over 83.
“It’s nice to be back in competition again,” said Jimmie head coach Zach Hale. “This tournament has a solid field and is a great test for us to begin the spring season. We had a couple of big number holes that cost us today, but our guys grinded it out and we are still within striking distance.”
The tournament concludes Tuesday.
