Glenda Sherman, 78, Valley City, ND passed away at the Parkside Lutheran Home in Lisbon, ND with her family at her side, while under hospice care.  The funeral Mass will be 2:00 PM, on Monday, March 21, 2022, at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church, Valley City.  Visitation will be at the Lerud Mathias Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday the 20th from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, a prayer service will begin there at 7:00.  Her service will be live streamed then archived and available to view along with her obituary and online guestbook and on the tribute page for Glenda at www.lerudmathias.com

Glenda Lea Harrison was born October 10, 1943, in Minot, ND.  She was the daughter of Victor and Lou Harrison.

She graduated high school from Wimbledon, ND in 1961.  She then attended the New York Hair Academy in Fargo completing her training as a hairdresser in May of 1962.

Glenda Lea married the love of her life Donald Paul Sherman on February 10, 1964.  The couple lived in Carson, ND for two years and later moved back to Valley City where they raised their three children.  Don and Glenda were blessed with 40 years of marriage.

Glenda enjoyed life as a hairdresser for over 50 years.  She was a friend and “therapist” to each of her clients.

Glenda loved to sew and used her skills in the family business, Sherman Clothiers, as a seamstress.

Her greatest joy was raising her family and making memories at the cabin on Lake Ashtabula.

Later in life Don built her the home of her dreams along the Sheyenne River where she could entertain and create memories with her growing family.

Glenda Lea always said her greatest accomplishment was her marriage, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.  She loved her family deeply.

Following Don’s passing Glenda was blessed to find a special friend and companion in Larry Reidman.  They enjoyed traveling, farm life and casinos.

Glenda Lea is survived by her three children, Susan (Daniel) Clancy, Menoken ND; Paul (Lynette) Sherman, Minocqua WI, and Cindy (Paul) Ripplinger, Lisbon ND.  9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.  1 sister Debbie (James) Lochow; 2 brothers Victor (Carolyn) Harrison; Jim (Jane) Harrison.  2 Sister-in-Law’s Anne Albright; and Beth (Dennis) Polito; 2 Brother-In Law’s John (Jean) Sherman and Pete (Diane) Sherman and several nieces and nephews.  Her special friend and companion Larry Reidman & his family.

Glenda Lea is preceded in death by her husband Donald Paul Sherman, Her parents Victor and Lou Harrison, Stepfather Douglas Oglesby, her In-laws Leonard and Evelyn Sherman and 2 grandsons Gabe and Justen Ripplinger.
