JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Jamestown’s animal shelter is continuing to make improvements and maintain their equipment.

James River Humane Society is a non-profit, no-kill shelter that houses abandoned or stray animals so they can find their new homes. Board member Jay Nitschke says they’re continuing to fundraise to provide upkeep of their building.

At this time, Nitschke says they haven’t opened the shelter up to the general public yet. But they’re more than willing to take any volunteers.

Nitschke says those wanting to volunteer or schedule a visit can contact dog manager Kris at 701-269-2803 or cat manager Sheila at 701-367-9162.

You can visit jamesriverhumanesociety.org for more information on adoptions, volunteer opportunities, and fundraisers.
