Crews used some mild weather Friday, March 4th to work on Eagle Flats in Jamestown.

JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Crews are continuing work on the Eagle Flats project in Jamestown.

Once completed, the estimated $8.6 million project will be a four story, low income housing project. Eagle Flats would provide 33 units for low and moderate income people. City Building Inspector Tom Blackmore says they’re happy with the process so far.

“Water and Sewer service lines have been extended from the City mains,” he says. “The foundation was constructed prior to the winter freeze up. Over the winter, the structural steel has been set. The exterior walls of the first floor have been set and the second story floor joists and second floor exterior walls are currently being set.”

Inclement weather and material shortages have caused delays, but Blackmore says they estimate completion for the fall of 2022.

Tyler Sheeran, Development Associate with Commonwealth Development Corporation, says they’re excited with the progress made this far.

“Eagle Flats is going great, we couldn’t be happier with the progress our construction team has made to date,” Sheeran added. “Experienced a few delays due to weather as expected when working in North Dakota. That said, we are still on track to be complete in the fall and look forward to bringing this development online and provide top-tier workforce housing to the great community of Jamestown.”

Eagle Flats will located on the site of the former Eagles Building at 217 2nd Ave SW.
