FARGO, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – A very young Blue Jay girls hockey team came away with a pair of wins at the State Tournament in Fargo including the Consolation Championship, thanks to a 2-1 overtime win over Mandan on Saturday.

The Jays have only one Senior on the team and pulled off a couple of overtime thrillers in less than 24 hours.

Junior Savannah Potratz poked in her own rebound 3:57 into overtime to send her teammates and the Blue Jay fans into a frenzy.

Junior Alexis Kirkeby scored on a power play goal late in period two, her 27th goal of the season to give Jamestown a 1-0 lead. Mandan tied it up with an early goal in period three by Sophomore Kenlee Edland, her 15th of the season.

Blue Jay Sophomore Goalie Olivia Sorlie was again the star of the game with 41 saves, as Jamestown was outshot 41-21.

Blue Jay Head Coach Andy Fitzgerald was named coach of the year.
