FARGO, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – A record-setting season for Jamestown boys hockey came to a close Saturday at the State Tournament in Fargo with a 4-2 victory over Mandan for fifth place.

Senior Hunter Nelson continued his amazing state tournament with a pair of goals, his fourth and fifth of the weekend and his 26th and 27th of the season. For his efforts, Nelson was named to the All-Tournament Team.

Junior Brooks Roaldson tallied his 15th of the year, and the States leading scorer, Nolan Nenow blasted home his 33rd of the season.

Senior Goalie Brode Hillstrom came up with 14 saves as the Jays outshot Mandan 43-16.

Nelson was named the Senior player of the year and Head Coach Matt Stockert was named coach of the year.

“It’s all about the kids,” said Stockert after the game, “I owe this award to them and my assistant coaches”

Jamestown set a school record for most wins in a season and wrap up the year at 22-5.
