SIOUX CENTER, IA. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jimmies used a big second half push on Wednesday night to knock off #4 Dordt in the quarterfinals of the GPAC tournament, 83-59.

The guard play helped lead Jamestown to a 39-29 advantage at the halftime break. Marc Kjos, Will Cordes, and Cole Woodford played all 20 minutes during the first half. Kjos led the Jimmies in scoring with 10 points on 4-of-8 shooting from the floor. UJ shot 50% as a team in the first half while holding Dordt to 33%.

In the second half, Mason Walters got going early, putting up eight points in the first 10 minutes. Jamestown would extend its lead all the way to 26 as the onslaught was on in Sioux Center. Woodford had a team-high 20 points, going 4-of-5 from long range. Cordes dropped in 16 points, and Walters and Kjos each had 14.

#8 Dakota Wesleyan knocked off #1 Briar Cliff in the quarterfinals, so Jamestown will now be hosting a GPAC semifinal matchup. UJ will take on the Tigers on Saturday at Newman Arena with tipoff set for 3:00 pm. The Jimmies are 23-8 overall on the year and Dakota Wesleyan comes in with a 13-15 record.
