JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The James Valley Career & Technology Center (JVCTC) team took first in the inaugural Cyber Madness state event out of 12 total North Dakota Teams.

Held through the North Dakota Department of Public Instruction, the tournament pitted teams in a friendly competition involving cybersecurity. The team of Karl Ames, Jordan Dooley, Mason Klocke, and Collin Krapp took home first.

The team was recognized by the Jamestown Public School Board Monday night.

Team member Jordan Dooley told the school board about some of their challenges during the event on the Bismarck State College campus.

Scholarships were awarded for the team. Other teams included Turtle Mountain Community High School at Belcourt, Tioga High School, New England High School, Beach High School, two teams from Bismarck Century High, Bismarck High School, Williston Trinity Christian, and Fargo Public Schools.

Cheryl McIntyre was also recognized for being honored as North Dakota Choral Director of the Year. McIntyre received the award for her work with JHS students, leadership in ACDA, and activities in music throughout the state.
