VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Valley City Hi-Liners gymnastics team won their 9th EDC title in the last 10 years on Saturday in Wahpeton. Valley City finished with a team score of 142.300.

It was Abbey Thornton taking home the top spot for Vault with a score of 9.525. Karina Olson coming in second with a score of 8.950, and closing out the top 3 was Hailee Hanson of Breckinridge/Wahpeton at 8.900.

It was a pair of Hi-Liners claiming the top 2 sports for the Bars. Abbey Thornton in first place with a score of 9.650 and her teammate Karina Olson in second with a score of 8.600. Taryn Swanson of Grand Forks finished third at 8.252.

Jada Nelson of Valley City took home the top spot for the Beam. Nelson’s score was 8.950. Grace Undem of the Hi-Liners finished in second at 8.925. Lauren Swanson of Grand Forks closed out the top 3 with a score of 8.850.

Karina Olson had an outstanding performance for the Floor. Olson finished in the top spot with an incredible score of 9.900. Abbey Thornton of VC finished in second with a close score of 9.600.Quinn Bassingthwaite of Breckinridge/Wahpeton closed out the top 3 with a score of 9.300.

It was a trio of Valley City Hi-Liners for the top 3 scores for  All-Around. Coming in first place with a score of 37.625 was Abbey Thornton. Second place was claimed by Karina Olson with a score of 35.675. In third place was Grace Undem at 35.050. For Undem, her score is her personal best for all-around.
