FARGO, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – After winning the individual state championship, the Lisbon Broncos wrestling team wasn’t done as they won the Class B State Duals Championship as well on Saturday afternoon.

The Broncos won handily in the quarterfinals against unranked Kenmare-Bowbells by a final score of 56-13. They then took care of business against #4 Hettinger-Scranton in the seminfinals by a final score of 48-21. In the finals, #2 New Salem-Almont gave them a run for their money, but the dynasty stayed in tact with the second-to-last match being the clincher for a final score of 36-30.

As for the South Border Mustangs, they finished 3rd place in the tournament. They started strong with a dominant win over Central Cass in the quarterfinals by a final score of 50-24. In the semifinals, were unable to upset NSA falling by a final score of 52-24. In the third place match, the Mustangs came out on top against Hettinger-Scranton by a final score of 41-25.

The senior athlete of the year is Carter Schmitz of Kindred and the Coach of the Year is Dave Wolding of New-Salem Almont.
