JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – Two teams qualified for the Region 3 Tournament, and one team’s season came to a conclusion on Saturday night at the Civic Center, here are your results.

ELIMINATION GAME: #6 ELLENDALE 50, #7 BARNES COUNTY NORTH 9

The Cardinals jumped out to a 21-0 first-quarter lead and never looked back as they kept their season alive against the Bison. Sophomore Mackenzie Thorpe put up 15 points to lead all scorers in the win for Ellendale. The Cardinals led by as many as 45 points to bring an end to Barnes County North’s season. Jayden Samek scored all nine points for the Bison.

SEMIFINAL: #4 LLM 42, #1 EKM 34

LaMoure-Litchville/Marion outscored the #7 team in Class B 16-2 in the second quarter to help get an upset victory over the Rebels. Tessa Rasmusson led the Loboes with 12 points, and Molly Musland had 11. Off the bench, eighth-grader Norah DelaBarre had a really productive game, scoring six points and grabbing eight rebounds. For EKM, the Rebels suffered just their second loss of the year despite Mataeya Mathern putting up a double-double with 13 points and 16 rebounds.

SEMIFINAL: #2 OAKES 69, #3 CARRINGTON 51

Laikyn Roney put up 31 points on 12/15 shooting from the field to help the Tornadoes reach the District 5 final. Oakes shot 53% from the floor as a team, outrebounding the Cardinals by six. Emma Muggli nearly finished with a double-double as well for Oakes, ending the night with 12 points and nine boards. For Carrington, sophomore Madison Johnson and freshman Edyn Hoornaert both had 12 points.
