VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Valley City Hi-Liner gymnastics team picking up another victory on the season. The latest win came over this weekend when they won the KnightRider invite with a team score of 144.275, which is a team high this season.
In the win Karina Olson set a new school record for All-Around with a score of 37.875. Abbey Thornton (37.650) and Maddie Wendel (34.550) both had their best personal meets.
It was a pair of Hi-Liners who finished 1 and 2 in Vault. Abbey Thornton in the top spot with a score of 9.700, and her teammate Karina Olson with a score of 9.100. Taryn Swanson of Grand Forks finished third with a score of 9.000.
Once again, it was a pair of Hi-Liners in the top two spots for Bars. Karina Oslon with the top score of 9.700. Behind Karina was teammate Abbey Thornton with a score of 9.450. Finishing third was Keelie Ehlert from Fargo with a score of 8.850.
Karina Olson lead the way with the top score of 9.725 in Beam. She was followed by Taryn Swanson of Grand Forks at 9.025, and in third Anna Wicklow of Davies at 9.000.
Abbey Thornton finished in first place for the Floor with a top score of 9.600. Following her was teammate Karina Olson at 9.350 and in third place was Quinn Bassingthwaite from Wahpeton with a score of 9.150.
Karina Olson completed the Hi-Liner sweep as she finished in the top spot for All-Around score at 37.875. Abbey Thornton not far behind in second at 37.605, and in third was Taryn Swanson from Grand Forks at 35.400.
