JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The impacts of the Jamestown Rural Fire Department (JRFD) Fishing Derby can be seen and felt years later as they head into their 14th year on February 19th.

Held annually, the fishing derby and raffle fundraiser has done a lot for the volunteer service.

Brian Paulson is the Fire Chief for the JRFD.

Travis Lemieux is the committee chairperson for the fishing derby and after party at the Jamestown Civic Center. While tickets are virtually sold out for the derby and raffle, anyone is welcome to join them after the derby.

Lemieux added a lot of prior planning and a long day go into make the derby work. He thanked participants, donors, sponsors, and everyone else who makes the event run smoothly.

He added they have a lot planned for the derby and participants this year.

Participants are required to have their raffle ticket in order to be allowed on the ice during the derby.

Derby results and raffle winners will be listed on the Jamestown Rural Fire Department’s website at jrfd.org.
