SIOUX CITY, IA. (jimmiepride.com) – Derek Owens (SO/Andover, Minn.) and Austin Jacob (SO/Houston, Texas) of the University of Jamestown men’s volleyball team have been honored as the GPAC Attacker and Setter of the Week, the conference office announced Wednesday.

Owens was named GPAC Attacker of the Week. He averaged three kills per set and hit .600 on 30 attempts as the seventh-ranked Jimmies won a pair of matches last week. He was a perfect 8-for-8 in a sweep of St. Ambrose and then had 13 kills and just three errors in a four-set win at Dordt.

Jacob, the GPAC Setter of the Week, averaged 11.29 assists per set for Jamestown. He had 33 assists in a sweep at St. Ambrose, then had a career-high 46 assists in a four-set win at Dordt. Jacob also had 11 digs and four total blocks on the defensive side.

Jamestown, now 4-1 this season, hosts Ottawa (Kan.) Thursday at 7 p.m.
