Anderson, 86, of Milnor, ND, passed away October 21, 2012, at St. Catherine’s Living Center, Wahpeton, ND.
Muriel was born October 4, 1926 to Albert and Petra (Solberg) Anderson. She grew up and attended school in Milnor. Muriel was united in marriage to Orville Habeck, and together they had three children, Roger, Randy, and Renae. On June 3, 1957, she married John Methorst and they made their home and farmed near Milnor. Muriel was employed as a bartender for many years before she and John bought the J & M Tavern in Milnor, which they owned and operated. John died September 22, 1980. Muriel continued to live in Milnor until she moved to Lisbon when she married Anson Anderson. After his death, Muriel lived in Lisbon and Wyndmere before moving to Wahpeton, where she had been a resident at both the Leech Home and St. Catherine’s Living Center over the last three years.
She is survived by three children, Roger (Brenda) Habeck, Summit, SD, Randy (Mary) Habeck, Jamestown, ND, and Renae Mund, Fargo, ND; thirteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. Muriel was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, John and Anson, daughter Linda, son Larry, one great-grandson John, and siblings, Norman, June, Iner, and Lucille.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 24, 2012, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Milnor Lutheran Church, Milnor, ND, with the funeral to follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Milnor Lutheran Cemetery near Milnor.
