JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The University of Jamestown women’s basketball team stayed unbeaten at home all-time against Mount Marty on Wednesday night as the Jimmies bested the Lancers 74-53 in GPAC play.
It was a tale of two halves for Jamestown as the first half saw the Jimmies rely heavily on their freshmen, led by Megan Oswald and Lexiss Trygg to lead 36-18 over the Lancers at the break. In the second half, Mount Marty cut the lead for the Jimmies down to nine before Noelle Josephson and Hannah DeMars took over, propelling Jamestown to their fourth straight victory.
Josephson, a senior from Minnesota, had a game-high 18 points in the win for the Jimmies. Josephson also surpassed 900 points for her career on Wednesday night, becoming only one of 25 players in Jamestown history to hit that mark. DeMars ended the night with 13 points and five rebounds, and Oswald also finished in double figures with 10. Trygg had nine points off the bench as the Jimmies shot 46% from the field for the game.
