JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – Hockey Day North Dakota continued on Saturday at the outdoor rink outside of Wilson Arena in Jamestown, and after the Blue Jay Boys picked up a win Friday night, it was the Blue Girls team to take to the ice and battle the elements and the Bismarck Blizzard

With snow falling much of the game, Bismarck rallied for a 3-2 victory that was settled in a three round shoot out.

Jamestown had a 2-0 lead after two periods, thanks to goals from Junior Alexis Kirkeby, her 17th of the season, and Sophomore Cadee Stockert, her 1st of the season.

Bismarck got third period goals from Sophomore Brianna Curl, shorthanded,  and Junior Ella Gabel on the power play to force overtime.

Neither team scored in the eight minute overtime. The Blizzard scored twice in the three round shootout and the Jays scored once.

Bismarck outshot Jamestown 43-25. Blue Jay Sophomore Goalie Olivia Sorlie came up with 41 saves.

The Jays slip to 6-7 and Bismarck improves to 11-3.

Next up for Jamestown is a road game at Minot on Friday, January 28th.
