JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Stutsman County Park Board received the latest updates from Park Superintendent Karl Bergh Tuesday afternoon.

Bergh informed the board that he was contacted by Dale Marks about interest in his grandson continuing to mow the Ypsilanti Park during the summer.

Bergh says continuing to pay $600 to have him continue mowing is cost efficient for the county. The board unanimously approved to continue paying to have it mowed.

In his monthly report, Bergh informed the board that they’ve already seen a lot of reservations for camping this year.

Bergh added the move to a reservation system has also been well received.

Bergh also informed the board about clearing walking paths, being reimbursed for pumping the Game & Fish fish cleaning station, and update on a life vest grant.

The life vest grant would build an “honor system” kiosk that would supply life vests.

The grant would cover 100% of the kiosk including the life vest and rack. If approved, the kiosk could be installed at the Marina building with thoughts of adding another in the future.
