For the next few weeks, we’ll highlight some of the area organizations that will be participating in Giving Hearts Day on February 10th.

JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The University of Jamestown has been a longtime participant in Giving Hearts Day (GHD), the 24 hour donation drive that has raised over $112 million for North Dakota and Northwest Minnesota non-profits since 2008.

Setareh Campion is the Director of Alumni Relations at the University.

Participating non-profits are tasked with raising matching funds and encouraging donors to support them and their causes.

Tara Kapp, Director of the Jimmie Booster Club & Annual Progress Fund, says they’ll be using the funding to support their scholarships for current and future students.

Kapp added that the University was able to partner with two donors to make a single donation stretch event further.

Campion added that in order to be matched, donations need to be made on February 10th during Giving Hearts Day. To make it easier, she says they’ve created a “set it and forget it” donation system this year.

The University of Jamestown will be going live and posting updates on social media. They’ll also share Jimmie “love” stories to show how important the University of Jamestown has been in fostering relationships, friendships, and more.
