FARGO, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Senator Tim Mathern, the longest-serving Democrat in the North Dakota State Senate, has announced that he will be seeking re-election this year.
“We are in turbulent times,” Mathern stated in his announcement. This is the best time to add my experience to promote the common good.”
Mathern has been a strong advocate for working families, presenting ideas in his service to solve issues such as infrastructure and the child care crisis. He is the Director of Public Policy for Prairie St. Johns. He serves on the Senate Budget Section, Appropriations, and Rules Committees.
Mathern represents District 11 in Fargo.
During this interim legislative session, Mathern is working with other legislators on federal spending, prescription drug prices, and mental health services for North Dakota citizens.
He is a native of Edgeley, North Dakota.
