The memorial service for Preston James “P.J.” Bush, 74, Valley City, North Dakota, will be 10:30 am Saturday, January 22, 2022 at the Oliver-Nathan Funeral Chapel, Valley City. He died Monday, January 10, at CHI Mercy Health, Valley City.

Preston James Bush was born January 9, 1948 in Nebraska to James and Virginia Bush. He attended school in Hastings, Nebraska. He went on to attend college at MIT in Cambridge, Massachusetts where he attained his Bachelor of Science degree. He went on and received his Masters of Science degree from Boston College and received his Ph.D. from Northeastern University, Boston. Preston was a mathematic professor at VCSU from 1994 to 2019.

He enjoyed table tennis, astronomy, GO and chess. Preston also loved music.

Preston is survived by his daughter Naomi Bush (Jordan Brown), Toronto, Canada; step-mother Lucille Bush, step-sister Beverly Warden and step-brother Eddie (Sandra) Robertson all of Golfsport, Mississippi. He is also survived by his close friends and Valley City family – Troy and Alicia Rykowski, Ashley Rykowski, Jayden Rykowski, Jake Jacobson and Kaedyn Jacobson.
