VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Sheyenne Valley Community Foundation has launched their 2021 Mission Appeal with a goal to raise $75,000 that will go back in the community and support local nonprofit organizations. Funds raised through the Mission Appeal will support programs offered to nonprofits at no charge and support their ongoing grant programs.
Director of the Sheyenne Valley Community Foundation, Andrea Nelson said, “this past year we were able to provide over 350 hours of direct support to local organizations through our Nonprofit Capacity Building Program. Examples of this work include assisting with developing programs or initiatives, training opportunities, fundraising, and more.”
The Sheyenne Valley Community Foundation prides itself on being the only local resource focused on serving nonprofit organizations and acting as a bridge for community giving. Nelson added, “taking the time to meet with the local nonprofit community and understanding the challenges and needs they face in their industry and their goals and aspirations has proven to be rewarding. This year we were able to connect three local organizations to funding through the Otto Bremer Foundation bringing in $65,000 to help address workforce, supporting those faced with abuse and crisis, and counseling services to students at Valley City Public Schools.”
