Gerald (Mike) Hall died quietly while sleeping in his recliner on Saturday, Dec 18, 2021.
Mike was born in Pedro, OH, to Charles and Ann (Boggs) Hall on October 16, 1942, the only boy in a family of five children. He attended Rock Hill Schools and graduated in 1960. After graduation, he joined the Army, where he served as a payroll clerk in France and Spain. After leaving the Army, he returned to Ironton and married Hilda Candy Adkins. Gerald and Candy had a son, Randy Eugene Hall in 1965.
Mike and Candy later divorced, and Mike re-married Patricia Conley in 1974. He also became stepfather to Pat’s children, Stephen and Bonnie. The family lived in Pedro, OH for several years and moved to Lion’s Hollow in Kitts Hill in 1978 where Mike and Pat remained until moving to Marion, ND in 2010.
Mike worked as a payroll accountant for the Ironton Coke Plant (later Allied Signal) from 1964, when he left the Army, until his retirement in 1996.
Mike was a quiet man with a wicked sense of humor. He enjoyed family vacations to the beach or a lake, entertaining friends in the back yard, and hunting. Fishing, however, was his passion. Mike was an avid bass fisherman. He traveled the southeastern U.S. fishing the best lakes he could find. When he moved to North Dakota (the land of walleyes and northerns) he sought out bass lakes and fishing partners that were as passionate as he was about the sport.
Mike leave behind his wife: Pat Hall; son: Randy (Sheila) Hall; stepdaughter: Bonnie Conley; sisters: Diane (Homer) Fradd, Mary Jo Hall, Linda (Danny) Atkinson; Grandchildren: Ryan (Heather) Hall; Chelsea (Hunter) Luppold; Anthony (Becky) Brown, Libby Swedenburg, Christian Hanson; and great-grandchildren Talan Clark Luppold and Chase Hunter Luppold. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Rita (J.R) Owen; and his stepson Stephen Conley.
