CARRINGTON, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Carrington Public School District Superintendent Kris Kuehn says in their most recent School Board meeting, they delved into some of the latest data provided by the state.

Kuehn says the website insights.nd.gov provides a wealth of information regarding schools statewide as well as different districts.

According to the site, student achievements in Math, ELA, and Science sit well above the statewide averages for the academic year of 2020-21 for all grades.

Kuehn also reports enrollment remains about the same and they’ve also hired a new paraprofessional.

In other information, the district has ordered two school buses and are waiting for their delivery.

For school district building projects, Kuehn says the state is requiring a facility plan for the two they have in planning stages.

The first project includes updates to the Vo-Ag air intake and heating system portion of the school. Kuehn says they’re exploring funding sources such as ESSER funding to handle the cost of the project. The hope is to have the project complete by next summer.

Kuehn says the board also approved preliminary funds for Stadium 76 updates. He says they have an anonymous donor who has pledged some money and private fundraiser is currently underway.
