VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Police Chief Phil Hatcher said in the first case a Parking Control Officer working to get snow covered vehicles tagged, ran a plate, and discovered the vehicle was stolen out of Fargo. He said the stolen vehicle may have been parked sometime over the weekend in the 700 Block of 6th St. S.W. He said at this time the investigation is in an open status and we are urging residents to keep their vehicles locked.

In the second case Hatcher said officers responded to a stolen vehicle complaint from a resident in the 1500 block of East Main Street Tuesday morning. He said in this case a vehicle was stolen from an open garage with the keys left in the vehicle. The vehicle was recovered a short time later along I-94 east of Valley City. Hatcher is reminding motorists to lock your vehicle and remove your keys from your vehicle.
