JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The final month of the year is always busy for Major Judy Lowder and the Jamestown Salvation Army.

The Salvation Army is responsible for providing housing, food, and heating assistance and more. To support this year round, they rely on donations during their Red Kettle Campaign.

Major Lowder says the goal for this year’s campaign has been set at $167,000. At this time, they’re relying on individuals, clubs, businesses, and organizations to consider manning a kettle in the community to collect donations.

She added that when you volunteer to ring the bell, sometimes you can witness a “Christmas miracle.”

Donation sites can be found in front of Walmart, Jamestown Business Center, Cashwise Foods, and Home of Economy in the Buffalo Mall. Individuals can also create a “virtual” kettle to collect donations from friends and families.

You can sign up to volunteer at registertoring.com or contact Major Judy Lowder at 701-252-0290 or 701-269-3930 or email Judy.Lowder@usc.SalvationArmy.org.
