SIOUX CITY, IA. (NewsDakota.com) – The #1 University of Jamestown women’s volleyball team punched its ticket to the NAIA semifinals for the third year in a row on Thursday night as they took down #11 Bellevue in straight sets (25-23, 25-15, 27-25).

Bellevue played well on the block upfront, slightly slowing down the attack for the Jimmies in sets one and three. However, Jamestown played stout on the defensive side as well, collecting 10 total blocks in the match and holding the Bruins to a .041 attack percentage. As a team, Jamestown hit .174, their lowest percentage so far in the tournament, but still won in three sets for the 30th time this season.

Anna Holen finished as the leader in kills for Jamestown, ending the match with eight kills and 21 digs. Four different Jimmies ended the match with seven kills, including Taylor Sabinash who hit a match-high .385. Ellie Holen ended the match with a team-high 23 digs.

Jackie Meiklejohn dished out 20 assists and picked up one of the three service aces on the night for the Jimmies. Senior Megan Gaffaney added 16 assists and eight digs, and Jayla Ritter picked up six kills in the middle.

Jamestown, still undefeated at 35-0 on the year, will play Park University out of Missouri in the National Semifinal Friday at 5 pm from Sioux City. Full coverage of the match can be heard on Jamestown 107.1.Ā
