CARRINGTON, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The Carrington Girls Basketball team and the Carrington Wrestling team were both in action on Tuesday night. The Girls Basketball team played their first game of the year at home against Velva for a non-region contest, the Cardinals won 55-52. The wrestlers were in Hillsboro and beat fellow Region 2 team Hillsboro/Central Valley 42-33 and lost to Class A team Fargo Davies 42-28, Carrington is now 2-1 in duals this year.

Next up for the girls basketball team will be next week Thursday, Friday and Saturday in Jamestown for the Stutsman County Girls Basketball tournament, bracket unavailable at the time of this story, complete tourney coverage can be heard on Thunder Country 98.3 and newsdakota.com. The Cardinals Wrestlers will be in Velva this Friday and Saturday for the Velva Tourney, KDAK will have coverage starting at 330pm Friday and 10am Saturday.
