JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Kiwanis Club has opened their annual food box project to the public’s help this year.

Comprised of 50 members, the club focuses on projects that better the community while tailoring them specifically to families and kids. One of the biggest events the local club hosts is the Kids Against Hunger food packaging event.

Kiwanis member Amanda Thrift says because they haven’t been able to, they decided to open up their Food Box project, which is normally held among just the club.

Thrift says they’ll be accepting unexpired, nonperishable food items at an upcoming food drive event at Lifestyle Appliance. She added there’s a long list of items people can donate to the drive that will stay local.

If unable to make a drive-thru donation, Thrift says you can contact any Kiwanis Club member or call her directly 701-320-6812 or Chelsey at 406-694-6146.
