JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – As the demand for more skilled trade and two-year education jobs increases, so does the interest.
More than 1,100 students in Region 6 were in Jamestown Thursday to explore different trade jobs and two-year upper education facilities at the Health, Technology, and Trades Career Fair.
The Region 6 Transition Community of Practice coalition brought back their biannual job fair to connect students in Barnes, Dickey, Foster, Griggs, LaMoure, Logan, McIntosh, Stutsman and Wells counties with these job and education opportunities.
Danica Chaput is with Job Service ND and a member of the Region 6 Transition Community of Practice.
Chaput says with over 600 available jobs in Jamestown and Stutsman County, she says they’re also seeing which job sectors have the most demand. She added that student participation was also up, showing there’s also an increase in interest for those jobs.
