Carrington, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)—-The Carrington girls volleyball team started the night off slowly but rebounded for a 3-2 victory (13-25, 25-14, 25-23, 20-25, 15-11) over Napoleon-Gackle-Streeter (NGS). The Imperials jumped out to a quick start & cruised to the opening set victory 25-13 and also won the fourth set 25-20. The Cardinals defense at the net was the difference, recording 15 stuff blocks in the match to just 1 for the Imperials.

Kennedy Wendel (5’10 junior MB) recorded a match high 6 stuff blocks and also added 5 kills for the Cards. Sydnie Grager (6′ senior MB) added a team high 20 kills to pace the offense and also added 4 stuff blocks. Allison Jarret (5’5 junior OH) and Haley Wolsky (5’9 junior OH) both added 13 kills and Wolsky added 3 stuff blocks. Emma Rindy (5’5 senior setter) had a team high 34 assists.

The Imperials were paced by Ashley Schmitt (5’8 senior OH) with a match high 28 kills and also added 2 service aces (match high tied with 3 teammates). Kylie Breidenbach (5’6 senior OH) added 14 kills and 2 service aces. Emma Ketterling (5’3 junior setter) had a match high 39 assists for the Imperials. NGS dropped to 22-7-1 overall on the season & Carrington improved to 16-8-2 overall. The Cardinals will host Medina-Pingree-Buchanan next Monday night in the regular season finale.
