MINOT, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The #2 Jamestown High School football team picked up its second shutout of the year on Friday night as the Blue Jays took down Minot 21-0 in the Magic City.

The Blue Jay offense got on the scoreboard on its first drive of the game, going 34 yards in seven plays with Preston Kroeber scoring on a 10-yard touchdown pass from Jackson Walters. Jamestown would hold that 7-0 lead going into the halftime break.

In the third quarter, the Blue Jays found the endzone a second time, courtesy of Jakob Schempp who scored from six yards out on the ground. Schempp was the leading rusher for Jamestown Friday night, carrying the ball 18 times for 97 yards and a touchdown.

The Blue Jay defense forced Minot to turn the ball over on downs five times, while also recording three interceptions. Kroeber had the biggest interception of the evening, coming late in the fourth quarter when he picked off Trevor Emke and returned it 54 yards for a score to put the dagger in the Magicians. Adam Kallenbach and Colton Mewes also had interceptions for Jamestown in the victory.

Jackson Walters was 10-17 passing for 91 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions. Walters also carried the ball nine times for 35 yards. Kallenbach was the leading receiver with two catches for 46 yards.

The Blue Jays improved to 6-2 on the season, dropping Minot to 2-6. Jamestown wraps up the regular season next Friday on the road at Devil’s Lake with a 7 pm kickoff.
