JAMESTOWN, ND. – The University of Jamestown women’s soccer team ran its unbeaten streak to 12 matches, defeating Concordia (Neb.) University 1-0 Saturday at the Jimmie Turf Field.

Jamestown held a 6-4 edge in shots and a slim 4-3 margin in shots on target in the opening half as neither team dominated possession.

Cassandra Diaz (JR/Montebello, Calif.) notched her 12th goal of the season just 29 seconds into the second half on a pass from Kamryn Fiscus (JR/Yakima, Wash.), and the Jimmie defense made the single goal stand up for the final 44 minutes.

Concordia did not have a shot in the second half, and only two of Jamestown’s five shots were on target as a progressively intensifying rain storm began to fall.

Alex Nowka (JR/Anchorage, Alaska) had three saves in the shuout. Diaz had two shots on target while four other Jimmies each had one.

UJ is on the road Wednesday at Mount Marty (S.D.) University.
