JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Stutsman County Commission moved to approve a bid for the road department to purchase a motor grader.
Highway Superintendent Mickey Nenow informed the commission that they opened two bids Wednesday.
Nenow says he would like to move on from their current equipment sooner than later, using what they have only as a backup when necessary. He recommended awarding the bid to RDO Equipment with a deliver date of February 28th, 2022.
The bid was also still within budget. The commission unanimously approved.
Later, the commission revisited a request from IT Director Josh Smaage about remodeling the meeting room with updated audio/visual equipment.
Interim Auditor and COO Jessica Alonge stated they had reached out to the Association of Counties to gauge if the project was something they could use COVID-19 relief funding for.
Smaage had quotes ranging from $40,000 to $100,000 to upgrade equipment. Right now, a quote is in at around $37,000 with other costs the be added. Smaage says the commission could set a limit of around $41,000 for the project.
The commission unanimously approved Smaage to pursue the project.
